"For the past few months, my wife and I kept making excuses to avoid dealing with our 15-month-old's hair, because 1. We both had no clue how to cut it, and were sure any attempt to do it ourselves would end with a massive head wound and a screaming child; 2. I'm fundamentally opposed to dropping an insane amount of money at one of those specialty places. and 3. We didn't want him making a scene at a regular barber.
But reality came crashing down during a vacation two weeks ago when a well-intentioned stranger mistook him for a girl. We decided to go to a kid-friendly shop in Hoboken called Bangz Salon.
The "First-Ever" haircut cost $14 and took about three and a half minutes, but the price seemed pretty reasonable, But I'd highly recommend going to Bangz Salon at least once.."
As parents, we truly understand the trauma a child may experience with those "first few haircuts". It can be a scary and intimidating scenario to have a stranger coming at you with a pair of sharpened scissors or a noisy pair of clippers with the intent of removing part of your body (as painless as it might be).
At the same time, we know how stressful it is for the parent(s) to provide comfort and reassurance to a visibly upset or even defiant child in the otherwise quiet, relaxing, and peaceful environment of an adult salon. Add to this mix the tension of retaining the services of a Stylist who lacks the patience and understanding to deal with this situation and you now have the secret recipe for Bangz Kidz Cuts!
